چکیده

In this paper, the possibilities of finding out surface plasmons in negative-permittivity metamaterial scatterers, using surface integral equations, are discussed. Electrostatic resonances manifest themselves as very high values of the polarizability for a certain (negative) value of the permittivity. Another way to locate the position of the resonances is to calculate the eigenvalues of the source-free integral equation operator for the static potential on the surface of the particle. Perturbative Approach to Calculating the Correlation Function of bi-isotropic Metamaterials

A bi-isotropic magneto-electric metamaterials is modeled by two independent reservoirs. The reservoirs contain a continuum of three dimensional harmonic oscillators, which describe polarizability and magnetizability of the medium. The paper aimed to investigate the effect of electromagnetic field on bi-isotropic. Starting with a total Lagrangian and using Euler-Lagrange equation, researcher cou...

Magnetic levitation of metamaterial bodies enhanced with magnetostatic surface resonances

We propose that macroscopic objects built from negative-permeability metamaterials may experience resonantly enhanced magnetic force in low-frequency magnetic fields. Resonant enhancement of the timeaveraged force originates from magnetostatic surface resonances (MSRs), which are analogous to the electrostatic resonances of negative-permittivity particles, well known as surface plasmon resonanc...

Simulation of Surface Plasmon Excitation in a Plasmonic Nano-Wire Using Surface Integral Equations

In this paper, scattering of a plane and monochromatic electromagnetic wave from a nano-wire is simulated using surface integral equations. First, integral equationsgoverning unknown fields on the surface is obtained based on Stratton-Cho surface integral equations. Then, the interaction of the wave with a non-plasmonic as well as a palsmonic nano-wire is considered. It is shown that in scatter...

Simulation of Light-Nanowire Interaction in the TE Mode Using Surface Integral Equations

In this paper, the scattering of a plane monochromatic electromagnetic wave from a nanowire with circular cross-section in the transverse electric (TE) mode is simulated using the well-known Stratton-Chu surface integral equations. For an ordinary dielectric nanowire the refraction phenomenon is nicely simulated. In the case of a plasmonic nanowire no sign of surface plasmon excitation and prop...

Numerical solution of boundary-integral equations for molecular electrostatics.

Numerous molecular processes, such as ion permeation through channel proteins, are governed by relatively small changes in energetics. As a result, theoretical investigations of these processes require accurate numerical methods. In the present paper, we evaluate the accuracy of two approaches to simulating boundary-integral equations for continuum models of the electrostatics of solvation. The...
